Veteran, K-9 security handler says masked people destroyed supplies for North Carolina victims

A Coast Guard veteran with years of experience conducting Search and Rescue/Law Enforcement missions says she witnessed what appeared to be an attempt to disrupt civilian hurricane relief operations in North Carolina.

Megan, a certified Kennel Master, Trainer, and K9 Handler was in Burnsville, NC, on Sunday night, when she recorded an unmarked helicopter attempting to “destroy the distribution area.”

She says she was working security at the distribution area while most of their security teams were away on another detail when a Black Hawk helicopter, that was not part of their operation, showed up.

In a video she recorded, the helicopter can be seen flying low over their position, creating a rotor wash that blew around their supplies and allegedly injured people.

The crew and those in the aircraft appeared to be wearing masks concealing their faces, according to her report.

“I’ve done plenty of helo ops with Coast Guard helos and I know a practiced rotor wash when I see it and our pilots never masked up this way,” she said.

Roughly 45 minutes before the incident, “two unmarked black SUVS and a side-by-side did a slow roll at the entrance of our parking lot and left,” she claims.

Megan added that local law enforcement responded after the incident and said they didn’t know who was operating the helicopter.

Megan served 11 years in the US Coast Guard and started Mid-Carolina K9 LLC after leaving active duty and completing three different schools related to her K-9 work.
