Airman files for divorce with wife after being released from jail

An Idaho Air National Guard non-commissioned officer has filed for divorce while out on bond after being arrested on multiple felony charges, including child abuse and domestic violence.

Jared Arthur Hight, last publicly listed as a U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant in 2019, was arrested on January 29, 2025, after a warrant was issued for his arrest along with a no-contact order.

He was booked into the Ada County Jail on the same day and later charged with two counts of felony injury to a child. The charges stem from incidents dated January 1, 2023, and October 15, 2024.

Following his arrest, Hight appeared for a video arraignment before Judge Theresa L. Gardunia on January 30, 2025.

His bond was set at $100,000, which he later posted as a surety bond. In addition to the child abuse charges, he faces two felony charges related to an incident on July 20, 2024, including attempted strangulation and battery involving domestic violence with traumatic injury. His bond for those charges was set at $50,000, which he also posted, securing his release under supervised pretrial conditions.

On February 10, 2025, Hight filed for divorce from his wife, Kasey, whom he has been married to since October 2008, according to her Facebook profile.

Court records indicate the divorce case involves minor children.

A joint temporary restraining order was issued the following day, along with an order requiring both parties to attend a “Focus on Children” program.

On Monday, Kasey’s attorney accepted the divorce summons after being served.

Hight is scheduled to appear in court on March 7, 2025, for a preliminary hearing on the child abuse charges and again on March 10 for the domestic violence charges.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
