A young woman who claims she had no idea she was pregnant when she joined the Army National Guard has shared a wild story on social media—but not all of it appears to be true.
The “digital creator” known as Lomi has built a following of over 500,000 on TikTok by documenting her journey and defending the father of her child despite his troubled past.
Her videos, detailing her life’s ups and downs, have collectively garnered millions of views.
Lomi’s story begins with a one-night stand with her then-20-year-old ex-boyfriend shortly after taking the oath of enlistment to join the Army National Guard. She claims she discovered she was pregnant a month before she was scheduled to ship out for basic training but decided to make things work with her ex.

The couple celebrated with a baby shower and began building a life together as a family.
It remains unclear whether she ever attended basic training, as pregnant women are not allowed to begin training and are typically required to delay their enlistment until after giving birth and receiving medical clearance to return to active duty.
In October 2020, Lomi gave birth to her child. However, not long after, she claims her boyfriend was arrested on what she describes as minor “marijuana charges.”

While only referring to him as “Brandon” in her videos, records obtained by The Salty Soldier reveal that her husband is Brandon Ayala, now 25 years old, and his criminal history suggests he could be classified as a habitual offender.
In 2020, according to the Iowa Department of Corrections, Ayala was on probation at the time he was sentenced to five years in prison, shortly after his child’s birth.
Lomi remained loyal to him, working 60-hour weeks and pulling double shifts while attending school full-time to support their family.
During his two-year prison sentence, she grew her TikTok following by posting videos of prison visits and praising Ayala as a good father worth waiting for. The couple eventually married while he was incarcerated.

As Lomi continued to post content to TikTok, some users blindly assumed his innocence and embraced Lomi’s emotional appeals to her followers.
“Not everyone who goes to jail did something,” one user wrote. “BELIEVE IT OR NOT some ppl take the fall for others.”
After being granted parole, Ayala did reunite with Lomi after he was released in August 2022 but it wasn’t happily ever after as she hoped.
In her TikTok videos, he could be seen wearing a parole-issued ankle monitor. However, rather than turning his life around, his troubles continued.
In February 2024, Ayala was arrested for violating his parole.
According to jail records from Polk County, Iowa—which includes the city of Des Moines—he is currently an inmate facing additional drug-related charges.

Records indicate he was arrested by University Heights Police Department (UHPD) officers and booked into the Polk County Jail on July 15, 2024.
His charges include possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and having an open container in his vehicle.
Despite these developments, Lomi’s TikTok remains active, and as of early this month, she continues to post videos expressing her unwavering support for him.
