Soldier caught on camera buying supplies possibly used to clean up a murder

Less than a week after the soldier whose wife went missing was taken into custody, footage has emerged of him purchasing suspicious items before reporting her missing.

Army Criminal Investigation agents say they are investigating the whereabouts of 28-year-old Dewayne Arthur Johnson II during the two weeks before he reported his wife missing.

Private First Class (PFC) Johnson reported his wife missing, in Hawaii, on July 31 but multiple sources claim store surveillance videos show him purchasing tools and cleaning supplies before reporting her missing.

“We’re looking for … those small details that we can fill those gaps in those timelines with,” said Ruben Santiago, special agent in charge for the Department of the Army Criminal Investigations Division.

“Somebody out there, we feel has more information that would be valuable to this ongoing criminal investigation,” Santiago added.

PFC Johnson is currently being held at a military detention facility but no charges have yet to be filed.

His wife, Mischa Johnson was six months pregnant with a baby girl.

She is said to be six months pregnant, 5 feet 2 inches tall, and weighing around 170 pounds.

Pfc. Johnson, originally from Frederick, Maryland, enlisted in the Army in 2022. He was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division in June 2023 and serves as a cavalry scout.

The Army is asking anyone with information that may help the investigation to call the ARMY CID Pacific Field office at (808) 208-0059.

The Army is also offering a $10,000 reward for information in connection to her disappearance.
