Army responds to alleged confrontation between LTC and NCO at Fort Bliss

A video circulating online that appears to show a lieutenant colonel confronting noncommissioned officers during an Army Fitness Test (AFT) at Fort Bliss is now under official review, according to 32d Army Air and Missile Defense Command.

The video, which has spread across social media pages associated with Fort Bliss Soldiers and air defense personnel, allegedly shows a field grade officer running through an active AFT route while yelling, “GTFO the road,” at Soldiers conducting the event.

An NCO administering the test can reportedly be heard responding, “We are taking an AFT,” before the officer allegedly approaches her aggressively and points a finger directly in her face. A second NCO then appears to physically step between the two individuals in an apparent attempt to de-escalate the situation.

Later in the video, the officer allegedly mocks the NCO by repeating her name in a condescending manner. The NCO responds, “It’s SFC Jeronimo,” before the officer allegedly replies, “Act like a goddamn private.”

Multiple Soldiers online identified the officer in question as the commander of 1st Battalion, 43rd Air Defense Artillery Regiment under 32d Army Air and Missile Defense Command.

While the Army did not publicly identify the officer by name, publicly available imagery posted online by military-affiliated social media pages appears to match the officer seen in the circulating video. One such image posted by the 11th ADA “Imperial” Brigade shows a lieutenant colonel visually matching the individual shown in the footage during an official event.

In a statement provided to The Salty Soldier through 32d Army Air and Missile Defense Command Public Affairs, the command confirmed it was aware of the video and that the incident is being reviewed.

“32d Army Air and Missile Defense Command is aware of a video currently circulating online involving one of our units,” the statement said. “We take all reports of misconduct seriously. The matter is currently under review. 32d AAMDC remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, leadership, and accountability across the formation.”

However, the command declined to answer several specific questions submitted by The Salty Soldier, including whether the officer shown in the video had been positively identified, whether the individual is the commander of 1-43 ADA, whether the route was an officially designated AFT route for 11th ADA Brigade units, and whether a formal investigation had been initiated.

According to Soldiers familiar with the location, the roadway shown in the video is allegedly one of the brigade’s designated AFT run routes and one of the only authorized alternatives to the installation track.

While The Salty Soldier also asked whether any administrative actions had been taken against personnel involved, Army public affairs offices typically do not comment on potential or pending administrative actions involving Soldiers.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion online, with many current and former Soldiers criticizing the officer’s alleged conduct toward senior NCOs during an official Army fitness assessment.

At this time, the Army has not announced whether any disciplinary or corrective measures have been taken.
