A Fort Carson sergeant first class is now facing 49 felony charges, including multiple counts of sexual assault of a child, after prosecutors significantly expanded the case following months of investigation.
Court records show Sgt. 1st Class Marquez Parker, 39, has been charged with 14 counts of sexual assault on a child under 15 with a pattern of abuse, 28 counts of sexual exploitation of a child, and seven counts of aggravated sex offenses. Prosecutors allege all of the charges involve at least one victim younger than 12 years old.
The newly filed charges mark a major escalation from earlier allegations and reflect prosecutors’ claims that the case involves both unlawful sexual contact with minors and the creation of illegal material.
According to charging documents, prosecutors identified 15 separate occurrences between October 2023 and February 2024 in which Parker allegedly engaged in criminal conduct involving minors.
Each charge lists a specific offense date, with one count covering a brief date range. Court records do not specify whether multiple charges occurring on the same day involve the same child or different victims. At this time, the total number of alleged victims has not been publicly disclosed.
Parker was arrested on November 13, 2025, at Fort Carson after authorities obtained a warrant. An arrest affidavit states the investigation began earlier in 2025 after a tip prompted Fountain Police Department to execute a search warrant at Parker’s residence in March.
Prosecutors indicated a second warrant was executed in November as the investigation expanded.
As the case progressed, Fort Carson’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) assumed responsibility for the investigation, which is standard procedure when active-duty service members are involved. CID later requested that Colorado Springs Police Department take the lead due to its role as the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force agency.
Both agencies have confirmed the investigation remains ongoing.
Court filings also reference allegations involving a child in another state. That portion of the case has been reviewed by federal authorities, though no public update has been provided regarding the status of that inquiry.
A judge has issued a protection order related to that allegation. Court records show Parker was initially prohibited from contacting minors, though a judge later allowed supervised contact with his own children.
After prosecutors filed the expanded charges, a judge increased Parker’s bond from $25,000 to $250,000. Court records indicate Parker posted both bonds and is not currently in custody.
Prosecutors also dismissed two earlier charges related to possession and distribution of illegal material and replaced them with the broader set of charges now pending.
Parker waived his right to a preliminary hearing within 35 days of arrest. A judge has scheduled a preliminary hearing for February 18, 2026, where prosecutors must establish probable cause for the charges to proceed.
Parker is assigned to the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, where he works as a 91M Bradley Fighting Vehicle System Maintainer. Court proceedings indicate he previously served at Fort Carson from 2017 to 2020 and returned in 2023.
The Pentagon has not released Parker’s full service record despite multiple requests.
As part of ongoing reporting, The Salty Soldier requested arrest footage and related records from Fountain Police Department, as well as information from Army CID regarding Parker’s apprehension and military status.
Both agencies declined to release records or provide substantive details, citing the ongoing investigation.
With 49 felony charges, an undisclosed number of alleged victims, and multiple agencies continuing investigative and forensic work, the case against Parker remains active and unresolved. Law enforcement has indicated that additional analysis is ongoing.
The Salty Soldier will continue to report as court proceedings move forward and new information becomes available.
