FORT STEWART, Ga. — A Fort Stewart master sergeant is scheduled to face a general court-martial in December over allegations involving a subordinate sergeant while serving in Poland.
Master Sgt. Fiona R. Wright, an E-8 assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, is charged with abusive sexual contact under Article 120 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and cruelty and maltreatment under Article 93.
The allegations stem from an incident prosecutors say occurred on or about Feb. 15, 2025, at Forward Operating Site Skwierzyna, Poland.
According to the referred charge sheet, Wright is accused of making unwanted sexual contact with a sergeant who was subordinate to her. Prosecutors allege the contact was made without the sergeant’s consent and for Wright’s sexual gratification.
Editor’s note: The specific allegations described in the charge sheet are more explicit than we consider appropriate for this ad-supported version. The full allegations are included in our uncensored reporting at The Salty Soldier Uncensored.
The same alleged encounter also forms the basis of the Article 93 charge. Prosecutors allege the sergeant was subject to Wright’s orders at the time, placing the case in the context of both alleged sexual misconduct and the responsibilities of a senior noncommissioned officer toward a subordinate.
The alleged incident happened just weeks after Wright’s brigade began a rotation to Poland as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve, which sends U.S. forces to Eastern Europe to train with allies and strengthen NATO’s eastern flank.
The 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team began moving into Poland in January 2025. The Fort Stewart-based brigade includes armored, cavalry, infantry, artillery, engineer and support elements.
Wright’s charges were formally brought in April 2026 and later referred to a general court-martial at Fort Stewart in July.
The case is being handled through the Army’s Office of Special Trial Counsel, which independently oversees the prosecution of certain serious offenses, including sexual misconduct cases, outside the accused’s normal chain of command.
The Army has scheduled Wright’s trial for Dec. 7 through Dec. 11 at the Fort Stewart courtroom. A motions hearing is scheduled for Oct. 21.
Wright was arraigned in August. The Army docket reviewed by The Salty Soldier did not yet list a military judge, plea, or whether the case will be heard by a military judge alone or by a panel.
The case is notable in part because of Wright’s rank. As a master sergeant, she holds one of the Army’s senior enlisted grades and serves in a position that typically carries significant leadership responsibilities.
Wright has not been convicted of either offense. The allegations remain unproven, and she is presumed innocent unless found guilty at court-martial.
The Salty Soldier will continue following the case as it moves toward trial.
