An Air Force master sergeant has been convicted of drug distribution and the maltreatment of a subordinate following a drug- and alcohol-fueled bender during a weekday last year.
Master Sergeant Bryan Leones, a military police officer with the 502nd Security Forces Squadron at Fort Sam Houston, was found guilty during a special court-martial late last year, according to court documents obtained by The Salty Soldier.

The case against Leones was largely built on the testimony of an unnamed Air Force staff sergeant (E-5), who was granted immunity in exchange for testifying against him.

Events Leading to the Charges
The incident occurred at an undisclosed bar and later at the apartment of an individual identified as “Doc Brown.”
According to the staff sergeant’s testimony, he lent Leones $180 while at the bar, unaware that the money was being used to purchase cocaine. After leaving the bar, Leones allegedly assured him and another Airman that if they continued to stay out with him into the early morning hours of Friday, March 22, 2024, they would not have to report to work that day.
Before entering Doc Brown’s apartment, Leones reportedly stopped at the stairs and told the two Airmen that he could use his influence to get them excused from duty. He allegedly claimed he had connections within the squadron, specifically referencing the female Airman’s supervisor, whom he had previously worked with as a flight chief.
Once inside the apartment, Leones pressured everyone to take shots and encouraged them to stay. Witnesses stated that he was seen dumping cocaine from a baggie onto a bathroom counter, using a blue credit card to cut it into lines, and offering it to others, including the female Airman, by handing her a rolled dollar bill. She declined, according to redacted court documents obtained by The Salty Soldier.
Unwanted Advances and Inappropriate Comments
Between 5 and 6 a.m., the female Airman decided to leave. Leones allegedly walked her to the vehicle and attempted to kiss her while leaning inside as she drove away.
After returning to the apartment, Leones reportedly made comments about the female Airman, some of which were redacted from the court documents. His defense team acknowledged that he told the staff sergeant, “You missed your shot,” or words to that effect. Additionally, he was accused of making statements admitting to past relationships with other subordinate Airmen.
Leones’ defense team argued that these comments were irrelevant and only served to paint him in a negative light, potentially misleading the court into viewing him as a “bad person.”
Later that afternoon, Leones allegedly called the female Airman to apologize and instructed her “not to say shit.” His defense lawyer contested the relevance of this evidence, arguing it should not be used to support claims that he sought to “dominate and control” the female victim.
Evidence and Conviction
A few days after the incident, Leones allegedly called the staff sergeant—who later testified against him—to apologize for “partying too hard” and “doing crazy things that night,” thanking him for keeping quiet about what had happened.
Four weeks after the incident, a search and seizure of Leones’ wallet was authorized, and forensic testing confirmed the presence of cocaine residue. The defense questioned why investigators did not test the three blue credit cards in his wallet, arguing that the wallet itself should not have been admitted as evidence. The court denied the motion.
Following his conviction, Master Sergeant (E-7) Leones was demoted to staff sergeant (E-5), sentenced to three months of hard labor without confinement, and ordered to pay a fine of $500 per month for six months.
