Army officer says she was forced out of the Army

First Lieutenant Alana Larcombe, a 2020 West Point graduate and former Army Public Affairs Officer, has responded to swirling rumors regarding her early departure from the military. Larcombe, who gained prominence for her TikTok content, publicly addressed concerns about her alleged fraternization with Army Specialist Cheyanne Rademacher.

In a recent TikTok video, Larcombe explained that she left the Army following her medical board separation (medboard), which she described as “for personal reasons” that she chose not to disclose. She emphasized that this separation was neither voluntary nor related to the allegations of fraternization.

The rumors began after videos surfaced showing Larcombe in what appeared to be a hotel room with Rademacher holding a bottle of champagne.

These clips, part of a TikTok collaboration, fueled speculation about her early exit from the Army. Larcombe clarified, however, that all collaborations with Specialist Rademacher occurred after her departure from service in November 2024.

“There has been no fraternization,” she asserted. “Every collab that happened, happened after I was out.”

Larcombe acknowledged the confusion her social media presence may have caused, particularly because she continued to post videos in uniform even after her separation.

“Social media is fake,” she explained. “You can’t believe everything you see online.”

She went on to say she controls the narrative of her life and controls what she wants people to believe about it.

For example, she led the public to believe she was still serving the Army by posting numerous videos in uniform -with her First Lieutenant rank- after her medical discharge from the Army.

She also dismissed claims that she was discharged for administrative reasons or inability to promote. “I was on the promotion list for this year,” she said. “I was medically separated by force; it wasn’t my choice.”

Larcombe described the transition out of the Army as “very difficult and rough” but refrained from sharing deeply personal struggles online. “I refuse to post myself crying on the internet,” she added.

Larcombe commissioned as a Field Artillery Officer (13A) upon graduating from West Point and selected the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) for her first assignment.

“I actually picked TRADOC as my post. I think it’s a hidden gem,” she shared in an Army-produced video, highlighting her role in shaping the future of the Army.

While serving as a TRADOC battery commander, Larcombe oversaw the unit’s shutdown in February 2023. She subsequently transitioned to a Public Affairs Officer (PAO) role at Fort Sill, where she was featured in Field Artillery Magazine.

During her service, she expressed aspirations to complete a Master’s degree in Social Media Digital Marketing and to advance as a brigade-level PAO by 2024.
