Brandon “Ate Up” Storey, an active-duty soldier, for preying on children in teen-focused online groups. Predatory Behavior in Uniform
Spc. Storey used his military status as a gateway to gain the trust of minors, according to an admin of a Colorado Ped Patrol Facebook page. He allegedly infiltrated numerous teen groups online, initiating conversations that quickly turned explicit. His behavior escalated to an appalling level when he boasted to a decoy posing as an 11-year-old about past abuse involving his stepsister, expressing pride in his actions.
Decoy Operations Lead to Key Evidence
CPP Women Against Predators (CPP WAP+1P), led by dedicated team members like “Mel,” played a crucial role in exposing Storey’s predatory activities.
According to Mel, Steph, the founder of Women Against Predators was the voice decoy who spoke to Storey.
During conversations with Storey, the team carefully documented his explicit and incriminating statements. Despite Storey’s attempts to erase his tracks by unfriending the decoy on Facebook, the evidence was already secured.
Storey’s arrogance was evident throughout the encounter, but little did he know that his actions were being monitored not just by CPP but by the Army as well, which had been informed during the sting operation.
Steph’s CPP Women Against Predators team includes three members: SJ, who collaborates with Papa on OSINT tracking, and Mel, who played a key role in bringing this story to light.
Apprehension and Additional Charges
When confronted, Storey’s behavior became erratic. He demanded the return of his phone and attempted to retrieve it from an officer’s car, an action that resulted in his immediate restraint. This incident may add another charge to the growing list against him.
The CPP community, including a prominent member known as Papa, did not hold back in condemning Storey. “He is an absolute disgrace to the uniform and a complete embarrassment to the military,” Papa stated, capturing the widespread outrage over Storey’s actions.
