Luis Elizondo, the former head of the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), provided significant testimony during a U.S. Congressional hearing on November 13, 2024, regarding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs).
He confirmed the existence of advanced technologies associated with UAPs that are not of human origin and disclosed that the U.S. has been involved in programs to recover and reverse-engineer these craft. According to Elizondo, these efforts have occurred without proper oversight and have been funded by misallocated taxpayer dollars.
During the hearing, Elizondo told South Carolina Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R) “yes” to the following questions:
“Has the government conducted secret UAP crash retrieval programs?”
“Were they designed to identify and reverse engineer alien craft?”
Elizondo highlighted a history of “excessive secrecy” surrounding UAP programs, which he argued has not only withheld crucial information from Congress and the public but has also resulted in harm to military personnel involved in encounters with UAPs.
He testified that there is documentation of disability payments issued to U.S. personnel injured during these incidents, though further details remain classified.
Other witnesses, including journalist Michael Shellenberger, supported these claims, referencing a secret program named “Immaculate Constellation” that allegedly stores sensitive UAP data and has documented extraordinary incidents, such as UAPs interfering with military exercises.
Shellenberger and others advocated for greater transparency and stronger Congressional oversight.
The hearing underscored bipartisan calls for full disclosure of UAP-related information, with several witnesses urging the government to acknowledge the reality of non-human technologies and their potential implications for national security and public understanding.
