Soldier working at prohibited off-post nightclub is charged with crimes

A soldier at Fort Carson has been charged with assault while working at a nightclub in Colorado Springs, Co.

Army Specialist Jacob Elliot is accused of more than one assault while being employed as a bouncer at a nightclub the Army prohibits soldiers from patronizing.

While working at Nova Nightclub, Elliet is accused of choking -something he denies- a woman until she could not breathe.

According to a GoFundMe page found by The Salty Soldier, Arvionne Eaton lost her mother in March and went to Nova Nightclub “to get her mind off things.”

She told a local news source she was on the club’s dance floor, on July 21, when Elliot allegedly put her in a chokehold and then threw her onto the sidewalk outside.

She says the throw knocked her unconscious.

“My head bounced off of the concrete,” she said.

“I laid there unconscious for at least 10 minutes. Very life-changing and waking up on the sidewalk like that was very embarrassing and honestly, I could have died.”

Colorado Springs Police charged Spc. Elliot with two counts of assault in the first degree, according to KRDO.

Police believe he may have been involved in another assault at the nightclub on June 2nd and he has been charged with assault in the second degree for that incident.

Elliot is on active-duty performing his duties at Fort Carson and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
