Army offered Master Sergeant a plea agreement for abusive sexual contact

In March, an Army master sergeant was arraigned for sexual and battery charges at Joint Base Lewis-McChord

The army offered little details about the crimes committed by Master Sergeant Eric F. Brainard but did say he was offered a plea agreement.

After accepting his plea, he was convicted on May 31, 2024.

During a special court-martial at Joint Base Lewis-McChord he was convicted of one specification of maltreatment, two specifications of abusive sexual contact, and two specifications of assault consummated by a battery in violation of Articles 93, 120, and 128, UCMJ.

Brainard was ordered to be reduced to the grade of E-7, to be confined for 30 days, to forfeit $53 pay per month for 12 months.

He was also officially reprimanded.
