A 21-year-old soldier, sporting a 2nd Cavalry Regiment patch, claims she was promoted to sergeant just under three years.
Sergeant Lipscomb’s video showing off her promotion has had over 16,000 likes and over 630 comments -most supportive and some curious.
While a majority of the comments featured a simple “congrats,” or “proud of you,” some poked for and were more salty about her promotion.
“Looking so beautiful and dancing like that I would have promoted you in two days lol 😆, but seriously congratulations continue to move up,” another user said on TikTok.

Another user was curious if she started as an E-1 or entered the Army as a Private (E-2) or Private First Class but she did not reply to any of the comments.
One suggested she entered as a Private First Class with waivers, which would make her path to Sergeant quicker.

However, the Salty Soldier was able to find a photo posted to Facebook in 2022 that shows her as an E-1, likely at Fort Carson or a base in Germany based on her other posts.
The biggest contributing to making the rank of sergeant in under three years is the soldier’s (Military Occupation Specialty) MOS and the soldier/rank density in that job field across the Army.
After scouring all the depths of the internet, the Salty Soldier could not determine her MOS but some of her content shows her at her work desk, suggesting it is an admin job field.
During COVID and years after, the Army did offer temporary promotions to soldiers’ before they attended the Army’s Basic Leader Course (BLC).
In June -well after Lipscomb’s promotion- the Army army ended the temporary promotions and made those who received them permanent.
“The Army will no longer use temporary promotions for NCO promotions and all previously issued temporary promotions for NCOs will become permanent,” the Army said.
According to Lipscomb’s TikTok, she was notified she received a slot to attend the Army’s BLC at the end of November 2022.

But one of her posts to TikTok is sure to spark some debate about her promotion and career.
While she was at the rank of Specialist (E-4) she suggested she was caught making adult content and listing it with spicy links.
“When somebody bring up the sneaky link u thought nobody knew about,” she captioned her video.
The Salty Soldier was not able to find her sneaky link or evidence that it existed before, but any content she may have posted before the rank of Specialist may have been deleted as it is non-existent on her TikTok.
