Police confirm investigation into lewd Dollar Tree incident after woman identifies alleged Fort Bragg Soldier

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Fayetteville Police Department has confirmed it is actively investigating allegations that a man publicly identified by the alleged victim as a Fort Bragg Soldier followed her through a Dollar Tree while engaging in lewd sexual conduct.

The confirmation comes more than two weeks after The Salty Soldier first sought comment from Fort Bragg regarding the incident. As of publication, the Army has not responded to multiple requests seeking confirmation of the Soldier’s identity, military status, or whether the command has initiated any administrative or criminal inquiry.

The investigation stems from a series of TikTok videos posted by a woman who alleges a man followed her through a Dollar Tree store while exposing himself and masturbating. The woman has publicly identified the individual as Musa Ajay Salagbi.

The Salty Soldier has reviewed the circulating video, along with additional social media posts and publicly available online information related to the identification. The publication has not independently confirmed that Salagbi is the individual depicted in the video or that he is assigned to Fort Bragg.

After reviewing the victim’s public statements, The Salty Soldier initially contacted the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. Lt. Mickey Locklear, public information officer for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, advised the publication that no Dollar Tree stores fall within the Sheriff’s Office’s jurisdiction.

The Salty Soldier subsequently contacted the Fayetteville Police Department. Sergeant Kincaid, a public information officer with the department, confirmed the incident is currently under investigation. The department declined to provide additional information because the investigation remains active. No charges have been publicly announced.

The alleged victim has continued posting updates regarding the incident on TikTok. According to her public statements, police later came to her residence to take a report. She also stated that she contacted Fort Bragg regarding the allegations.

In separate posts, the woman published screenshots of messages she represents as communications from the individual involved. The messages appear to request that she remove the video and offer to pay her following the incident. The Salty Soldier has not independently authenticated those messages or confirmed who sent them.

On July 8, The Salty Soldier submitted a request for comment to Fort Bragg seeking confirmation of the alleged Soldier’s identity, military status, unit assignment, and whether Army officials had initiated any command inquiry or investigation.

After locating additional publicly available identifying information, the publication submitted a follow-up containing the possible full name Musa Ajay Salagbi and other information intended to assist the Army in identifying the individual referenced in the inquiry.

Following confirmation from the Fayetteville Police Department that the matter is under investigation, The Salty Soldier again requested comment from Fort Bragg.

The publication asked the Army whether it is aware of the allegations, whether the Soldier’s chain of command has been notified, whether any command inquiry, administrative review, or military law enforcement investigation has been initiated, whether the Army is coordinating with the Fayetteville Police Department, and whether any interim administrative or command action has been taken.

The Army Office of Special Trial Counsel separately advised The Salty Soldier that it was not aware of the incident and declined further comment.

As of publication, Fort Bragg and Army public affairs had not responded to any of The Salty Soldier‘s requests for comment.

The alleged victim publicly identified the man in the video as Musa Ajay Salagbi. The Salty Soldier also reviewed separate identification-related imagery depicting an individual wearing a U.S. Army uniform bearing the surname SALAGBI.

Additional publicly available online information identifies a Musa Salagbi as a U.S. Army professional in the Fayetteville area.

While the publicly available information is consistent with the alleged victim’s identification, neither the Army nor civilian law enforcement has publicly confirmed Salagbi’s identity in connection with the investigation.

The Fayetteville Police Department has not announced whether any charges have been filed or whether investigators have identified a suspect.

The Salty Soldier will continue following the investigation and update this story if the Fayetteville Police Department, Fort Bragg, or Army officials provide additional information.
