FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. — Newly released court documents from Rock Island County, Illinois, reveal additional details in the criminal case against former Army Sergeant First Class Namon L. Bledsoe, 30, who was convicted in August at a general court-martial for producing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The Salty Soldier obtained and reviewed more than 20 pages of civilian filings outlining multiple felony accusations still pending against Bledsoe.
The documents provide the clearest look yet at the civilian case that continues to advance even as Bledsoe serves military confinement for his federal conviction.
Six Felony Charges in Illinois Case
According to charging documents filed in Rock Island County Circuit Court, Bledsoe faces six felony counts: four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse (Class 2 felonies) and two counts of child pornography (Class X felonies), the most serious category under Illinois law.
Prosecutors allege that on Aug. 4, 2024, Bledsoe, who was 29 years old at the time, engaged in sexual penetration with a 13- to 15-year-old girl identified in court documents as Jane Doe, and that he repeated the abuse on Sept. 6, 2024. On both dates, Bledsoe is accused of recording the acts, meeting the statutory definition of producing child pornography.

A judge issued a probable cause determination on Sept. 30, 2024, confirming that sufficient evidence existed for the charges to move forward.
Custody, Release Conditions and Monitoring
Court records show that after Bledsoe was arrested on Oct. 1, 2024, he was initially held in jail on six felony charges, including several that did not allow him to post bond. He was later released but only under a long list of strict conditions.
The documents state that Bledsoe must check in regularly with pretrial services and wear a GPS ankle monitor. He is prohibited from contacting anyone under 18, including the victim, and cannot leave Illinois without court approval. His internet use is restricted, and he is barred from possessing firearms. He must also follow all supervision and behavioral rules set by the court.
Bledsoe signed the agreement acknowledging that breaking any of these conditions could lead to sanctions or his immediate return to custody.
Prosecutors Continue Expanding Evidence in 2025
Throughout 2025, prosecutors continued adding new evidence to the case, filing multiple updates showing ongoing forensic work and investigative activity. Each disclosure included materials turned over to Bledsoe’s defense team.
These records show that investigators provided digital-forensics reports from seized devices, screenshots recovered during analysis, multiple lab reports, police paperwork, witness statements, and documentation detailing how evidence was collected and handled. Prosecutors also submitted résumés for their digital-forensics experts along with notices about DNA testing and sample submissions.
The steady flow of evidence indicates the investigation remains active and continues to broaden as the civilian case moves toward trial.
Court Orders Psychosexual Evaluation
Another filing from December 2024 shows the court ordered a psychosexual evaluation for Bledsoe, agreed upon by both the defense and the prosecution. The evaluation was to be completed by a certified expert and shared with attorneys through a secure portal. Such evaluations are common in cases involving sexual offenses and can play a role in plea discussions or sentencing recommendations.
Military Court-Martial Already Completed
Bledsoe’s military case concluded on Aug. 27, 2025, when he was convicted at a general court-martial after pleading guilty to producing CSAM in violation of Article 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
Military Judge Lt. Col. Kenton E. Spiegler sentenced him to:
- 18 months of confinement
- A dishonorable discharge
The sentence was issued under the terms of a pretrial agreement.
The Salty Soldier’s request for more information about his service and court martial is still pending.
Bledsoe’s Army Career and Assignment History
Before his arrest, Bledsoe served as acting first sergeant for the 274th Movement Control Team (MCT), 3rd Division Sustainment Brigade, at Fort Stewart, Georgia—an uncommon role for a staff sergeant and a position normally held by a master sergeant or first sergeant.
In May 2024, he appeared in uniform at a First Army “First 100 Yards” youth event at Alleman Catholic High School in Rock Island, suggesting he was assigned to First Army at the time the alleged civilian offenses occurred.

Bledsoe had previously been highlighted by the Army for his logistics work with the 595th Transportation Brigade in Kuwait and publicly expressed interest in mentoring at-risk youth—an image now sharply at odds with the charges against him.
His former commander in the 274th MCT, Capt. Krystal T. Parrish, was separately convicted in 2025 after a court-martial for domestic violence. Parrish was sentenced to dismissal, the officer equivalent of a dishonorable discharge. There is no evidence linking the two cases, but both leaders’ convictions have drawn attention from former soldiers of the unit.
Civilian Trial Still Pending
Bledsoe remains on GPS-monitored pretrial release in Illinois while serving his military confinement sentence. The civilian charges—especially the Class X felony child pornography counts—carry far heavier potential penalties than those available under the UCMJ.
A trial date has not yet been announced.
The Salty Soldier will continue tracking developments in both state and military courts.
