A U.S. Army soldier and his wife were tragically found dead on Monday at their residence on Fort Johnson, officials reported.
Cpl. Perrin Ross, 24, an infantryman with the 1st Battalion, 509th Infantry Regiment, and his wife, Estephany Ross, 25, were discovered in their on-post home, according to Shelby Waryas, Public Information Officer for the installation.
Cpl. Ross enlisted in the Army in 2019 and had been stationed at the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Johnson since April 2023.
“This is a tragic incident for the entire Fort Johnson community,” said Brig. Gen. Jason Curl, commanding general of the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Johnson. “Our thoughts and prayers are with their families, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.”
The investigation into their deaths is ongoing and is being handled by the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division.
