Army private arrested for killing police officer made forewarning posts on social media

A soldier assigned to the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley was arrested for allegedly causing the death of a Kansas police officer earlier this year.

Geary County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrested Army Private Gage Kaiser, 19, on Sept. 10th.

The southern portion of Fort Riley and Junction City, which is outside the post’s southern main gate are within the boundaries of Geary County, Kansas.

Kaiser was charged with involuntary manslaughter; while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and two counts of aggravated battery; DUI.

Court records show Kaiser is accused of killing Scott Hollingsworth, 26, of Peck, on March 16. Hollingsworth was a patrol officer with the Clearwater Police Department.

Officer Hollingsworth had just celebrated one year with the Clearwater Police Department at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife and young daughter.

Kaiser is accused of driving on U.S. Highway 81 in Peck -just west of his hometown of Mulvane, Kansas- at about 4:19 a.m. on March 16 when he ran a stop sign and hit a vehicle driven by Officer Scott Hollingsworth of the nearby Clearwater Police Department.

The crash occurred around the border of Sumner County and Sedwick County, near the Kansas Star Casino and Sumner County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash that took the life of Officer Hollingsworth.

Sedwick County issued the warrant for Private Kaiser arrest.

According to Clearwater Police, Hollingsworth was driving home from a shift and Kaiser was heading to a friend’s house after leaving his hometown of Mulvane.

Law enforcement authorities did not state what vehicle Kaiser was driving during the crash but his social media offers some clues.

On his TikTok account, he posted numerous videos of his Ford Mustang, which he had been making modifications to for years.

One of his TikTok videos, which features his Mustang’s speedometer at 100 mph, contains the caption “I’ve dug two graves for us.”

Just under a month before the crash, he posted a picture of a used GMC Sierra with a Z71 package that he purchased from Family Mitsubishi in Witchita.

Roughly two weeks after the crash, Kaiser posted what appears to be an old picture of the Ford Mustang he owns or owned.

His last post on social media was last month.

Kaiser is currently in Geary County Detention Center with a $200,000 bond.
