The bodycam footage of a former military police officer being arrested has gained millions of views across social media but nobody followed up on what happened to her until now.
Last summer, Alicia Ann Orzel, was approached by police officers requesting her children while they were on a Wisconsin lake.
Orzel was staying with her children, who have two different fathers, at her boyfriend’s lake house at the time of the incident.
Unbeknownst to her, her boyfriend secretly told the children’s fathers Orzel was becoming violent and making threats to harm and kill people.
Sheriff’s deputies were requested to assist with retrieving the children to bring them to their fathers.
Two officers were accompanied by a DNR warden on his boat when they found Orzel and the three children, ages 6, 10, and 12, on Lake Chetac.
After instructing Orzel they had been ordered to retrieve her children, she became irate and tried to physically prevent the officers from taking the children.

She claimed they had no right to take her children because the officers did not even know the names of the children’s two fathers.
She attempted to call the fathers, but they did not answer.
“You don’t even know the name of the children’s dad,” she said.
The officers then directed their questions to her boyfriend who made the report about her behavior.
“Do you know why we are here? You can speak up too, sir, because I’m pretty sure you know why we are here,” one officer said.
The boyfriend, sitting on a pontoon seat with his hands over his face, refused to answer and was quickly confronted by Orzel.

She then called her lawyer, but what was said between her and her lawyer was not audible in the recordings.
Officers eventually took the children to a safe location and began collecting the children’s things from the boyfriend’s home.
When one of the officers spoke to the boyfriend alone, he told him she hit him with rocks and brass knuckles the previous night.
The officer asked him if he wanted her removed from the residence, and he said he did because he was scared of her.
He stated he thought she would end up coming back because she made threats to kill him and his family members.
Officers then instructed her to collect her belongings from the residence and she became belligerent.
After attempting to lead officers to her boyfriend’s alleged stash of marijuana, which is illegal in Wisconsin, she continued to avoid packing her things.
The deputy then tried to take her into custody and she became violent, punching him in the face near his left eye.

The Birchwood police officer and the DNR warden then grabbed her and directed her to the floor.
The deputy tased her after she continued to kick and swing her arms at them from the floor.

After being tased, the officers were able to place her in handcuffs and take her to the Hayward Hospital for a medical evaluation.
She was then transported to the Sawyer County jail and charged with felony battery to a Sawyer County sheriff’s deputy and misdemeanor domestic disorderly conduct on June 30, 2023, in the town of Edgewater.

Ozel, from outside of Chicago, had her initial court appearance in early October of 2023.
A few days later, she publicly requested a service animal on the Veterans Affairs website.
“I’m a disabled vet with bad PTSD. I go though Hines [Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Hines, Illinois], I’m interested in a dog,” she wrote. “What do I need to do?”

According to court records obtained by The Salty Soldier, she accepted a plea agreement that lowered her felony charge to a misdemeanor and dismissed the disorderly conduct with a domestic abuse enhancer in exchange for a No Contest plea.
The charge of disorderly conduct with a domestic abuse enhancer was dismissed.

On May, 16, 2024 she was sentenced to pay a $500 Fine, plus Court Costs, and a $200 DNA Surcharge, which totaled $1,083.00.
