An active-duty U.S. Army soldier assigned to Fort Bragg has contacted The Salty Soldier following publication of a report documenting online advertisements for in-person services tied to military-themed social media communities, claiming the activity was part of a covert overseas operation.
The Army has since confirmed the individual is an active-duty soldier and that an investigation is underway.
After publication, the soldier — who requested removal of the article — contacted this outlet directly and asserted that the online activity referenced in the reporting was not prostitution, but instead part of an authorized mission she claimed she could not explain.
In a written message to The Salty Soldier, the soldier stated that she was “on mission,” that the online advertisements and narratives were intentionally false, and that she routinely changed locations in her posts to avoid meeting requests. She further claimed the activity was tied to an investigation and warned that continued reporting could jeopardize her role and lead to reassignment.
“I am on mission that I can’t explain,” she wrote. “Not sure where the prostitution part came from as I have no possibility of meeting anyone since I’m overseas.”
In her message, the soldier claimed she was “overseas on mission” and denied the possibility of in-person meetings. However, after the publication contacted her using the Telegram account publicly listed on her Reddit profile, a menu advertising paid services was immediately sent to The Salty Soldier through that same Telegram account.

The messages were sent from a social media account that showed recent public activity reflecting her military service within the United States, including posts indicating she had been assigned to Fort Carson, Colorado.
Editor’s Note: Due to the explicit nature of certain materials referenced in this report, graphic details and imagery have not been published on The Salty Soldier. An uncensored version of this article — including additional context and documentation — is available for age-verified adults at TheSaltySoldierUncensored.com.
In her messages to this outlet, the soldier provided screenshots of alleged text conversations, including one she described as coming from a supervisor who purportedly assured her she would not “pop up on any sites.” Other screenshots showed messages from an individual she identified as a colonel who appeared to be aggressively pursuing an in-person meeting.
The soldier did not provide context or verification for the screenshots but claimed that all of her online activity was conducted “to attract the targets.”
“I follow and applaud what you do,” she wrote. “I’m just asking nicely to remove this because it will mess up my investigation and I will be relocated.”
Publicly available profiles associated with the soldier identify her as a U.S. Army sergeant (E-5). Photographs posted publicly depict her wearing Army uniforms consistent with the rank of sergeant. Those profiles reference cavalry-related units; The Salty Soldier is withholding specific unit details at this time.
No evidence reviewed by this outlet supports the claim that the soldier is currently deployed overseas or participating in a sanctioned intelligence or investigative operation.
Following outreach from The Salty Soldier, Fort Bragg Public Affairs provided an on-the-record statement confirming the soldier’s duty status and the initiation of an inquiry.
A Fort Bragg spokesperson stated:
“We can confirm that the individual in question is an active-duty soldier assigned to Fort Bragg. The unit has been notified and will begin an investigation.”
The original reporting documented a pattern of activity across military-themed NSFW Reddit communities, where an account claiming military affiliation engaged in explicit exchanges, referenced duty shifts and military hierarchy, and directed users to private Telegram messages.
In those private messages, a digital menu was shared advertising services for payment, including adult videos and what appeared to be in-person offerings. The account used military-themed imagery and repeatedly claimed association with Army installations, including Fort Bragg.
Screenshots reviewed by this outlet also included messages from third parties making graphic and inappropriate requests.
The soldier has not responded since being asked to provide documentation substantiating her claim that the activity was mission-related.
The reporting relied on publicly visible posts, archived comments, and materials voluntarily provided to this outlet. The outlet did not solicit services, arrange meetings, or attempt to entrap or deceive the individual.
While undercover operations and authorized online activity do exist in limited law enforcement and intelligence contexts, such operations are tightly controlled, documented, and coordinated through command and public affairs channels. The Army has not confirmed the existence of any operation resembling the one described by the soldier, nor has it requested that the reporting be corrected or removed on national security grounds.
This story remains developing. The Army has confirmed that the soldier’s unit has been notified and that an investigation has begun. The outlet will update this report if additional verified information becomes available.
The Salty Soldier has elected to withhold the soldier’s name and specific unit details at this time.
