Airman under under investigation in on-base shooting was found dead

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The airman found dead earlier this month at F.E. Warren Air Force Base has been identified as Airman 1st Class Marcus Tyione White-Allen, a 21-year-old member of the 90th Security Forces Squadron who was under investigation for the July 2025 fatal shooting of fellow airman Brayden Lovan.

White-Allen was discovered deceased on base around 8 a.m. on October 8, according to a statement from the 90th Missile Wing. The Air Force did not release the cause of death, which remains under investigation along with the earlier shooting incident.

Base officials confirmed that White-Allen had been identified as a subject in the July shooting that killed Airman Brayden Tyriq Lovan, 21, also a member of the 90th Security Forces Squadron.
The Air Force said White-Allen was being investigated for involuntary manslaughter and making a false official statement in connection with the incident.

Lovan was killed by a Sig Sauer M18 service pistol while on duty at the base on July 20. In the wake of his death, the Air Force temporarily suspended use of the M18 pistol across Air Force Global Strike Command, ordering a full inspection of the weapon after reports that some M18s may have discharged without a trigger pull.

The 90th Security Forces Squadron, responsible for safeguarding one of the nation’s key nuclear missile bases, has endured a string of tragedies in recent months.

White-Allen’s death marks the fourth fatality involving an airman from F.E. Warren since late summer.
On September 30, another airman’s death was linked to a murder-suicide in Fort Collins, Colorado. In a separate case, Airman Jadan Orr was charged with involuntary manslaughter after firing an AK-47-style rifle through an apartment wall in August, killing Senior Airman Joshua Aragon, 23.

Col. Terrance Holmes, commander of the 90th Missile Wing, said the wing is focused on supporting those affected while cooperating fully with ongoing investigations.
“It is with deep sadness that we face the loss of a member of the Mighty Ninety,” Holmes said in a statement. “On behalf of our entire team, I offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of the lost individual.”

Col. Jeremy Sheppard, commander of the 90th Security Forces Group, told airmen earlier this month that the unit must refocus on its mission.
“If your intentions are pure, I will always have your back,” Sheppard said. “For those not doing the right thing every day — this might not be the right place for you.”

Who Was Marcus White-Allen

Born April 13, 2004, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Marcus Tyione White-Allen — known to family as “Lil Polo” — was remembered as a quiet but compassionate young man who loved football and his faith.
He graduated from South Side High School in 2022, joined the Air Force the following year, and completed Security Forces Tech School in 2023. During his short career, he earned several honors, including the Air and Space Outstanding Award and the Nuclear Deterrence Operations Service Medal with “N” device.

In an obituary shared by his family, White-Allen was described as “a man of few words” whose “compassion, dedication, and respect for others spoke volumes.”

His parents, Marcus and Tyesha Allen, expressed gratitude for the community’s support:
“Your prayers, sympathy, love, support and encouraging words have not gone unnoticed. We are forever grateful. God bless you all.”

The Air Force Office of Special Investigations continues to examine both the July 20 shooting and White-Allen’s Oct. 8 death. Officials have not confirmed whether White-Allen faced formal charges before his passing.

The base leadership says its focus remains on “supporting those impacted by these tragic events” as investigators work to determine the full circumstances of both deaths.
