NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — North Little Rock Police have confirmed an active investigation is underway following a Feb. 23 incident involving a recently retired Arkansas Army National Guard lieutenant colonel who was confronted during a livestreamed civilian sting operation.
A spokesperson for the North Little Rock Police Department told The Salty Soldier that officers generated an incident report related to the confrontation involving retired Lt. Col. Daniel “Danny” Chism.
However, police said the report cannot be released because the case remains under an active investigation.
Authorities also declined to comment on whether any electronic devices or other evidence were seized during the encounter.
The confirmation comes more than a week after video circulated on social media showing members of a civilian group identifying themselves as “Preds v Prey” confronting Chism while officers appeared to be present at the scene.
Following the confrontation, the group posted what it claims are screenshots of graphic messages allegedly exchanged between Chism and the decoy posing as a minor.
Due to the graphic nature of the messages, they are not reproduced here. They can be viewed in the uncensored version of this report at www.TheSaltySoldierUncensored.com.
During the livestream, members of the group accused Chism of sending sexually explicit images to someone they claimed was a 15-year-old girl and attempting to meet the individual in person.

In the video, one member of the group tells a responding officer that the alleged communications involved a “decoy” posing as a minor.
At one point in the footage, the confronter asks Chism whether he sent the images.
“I did, I mean I did, I did the act,” Chism responds in the recording.
Officers are seen separating Chism from the group and speaking with him away from the camera. The livestream does not show an arrest, and the footage appears to end with Chism leaving the scene after officers document the incident.
Police have not announced any criminal charges as of March 5.
Chism’s retirement from the Arkansas Army National Guard was publicly recognized earlier this month at Camp Robinson’s Regional Military Training Center.

Photos from the ceremony were posted Feb. 7 — roughly two weeks before the livestreamed confrontation.
The Salty Soldier has also contacted the Arkansas National Guard to determine whether military leadership has been notified of the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
