Old Guard Military Police Soldier faces court-martial in sexual assault case

FORT McNAIR, Va. — A U.S. Army military police soldier assigned to Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall has stood trial at Fort McNair on multiple sexual assault charges stemming from an alleged incident in July 2024.

The charges were preferred on February 6, 2025, and later referred to a General Court-Martial by the U.S. Army Military District of Washington.

Ferris was arraigned on April 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Fort McNair courtroom before LTC Pamela L. Jones. He entered a plea of Not Guilty and elected to be tried by an enlisted panel.

The general court-martial trial was held from February 17 through February 20, 2026, beginning at 8:00 a.m. each day at the Fort McNair courtroom.

At the time of the alleged offenses, Ferris was assigned to the 289th Military Police Company at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall. The unit falls under the 4th Battalion, 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), which performs ceremonial duties and security operations in the National Capital Region.

The charge sheet reflects Ferris entered active duty on May 1, 2023, with a four-year service obligation. The document does not list any pretrial confinement.

As of publication, the Army has not publicly released the findings of the court-martial, including whether Ferris was convicted or acquitted on any of the specifications.

The Salty Soldier has requested confirmation of the verdict and any sentence imposed and is actively pursuing the official results. This article will be updated once the Military District of Washington releases the court’s findings.

As with all military justice proceedings, the accused is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
