National Guard Lieutenant Colonel confronted during livestreamed sting weeks after retirement

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A recently retired Arkansas Army National Guard lieutenant colonel was confronted during a livestreamed civilian “predator hunter” sting Monday evening while officers appearing to be from the North Little Rock Police Department were present at the scene.

The Facebook livestream, posted around 8:00 p.m. Eastern (approximately 7:00 p.m. local time) on Feb. 23, 2026, shows members of a group identifying themselves as “Preds v Prey” confronting retired Lt. Col. Daniel “Danny” Chism.

Public photos posted Feb. 7 from Camp Robinson’s Regional Military Training Center show Chism participating in what appears to have been his retirement ceremony earlier this month — approximately 16 days before the confrontation.

“He’s not going to send anymore…”

In the video, a member of the group accuses Chism of sending sexually explicit images to someone he believed to be a 15-year-old girl and attempting to meet her in person.

“He’s here to tell you he is not going to do it anymore. He’s not going to try and meet up with any 15-year-old girls online,” the confronter says to a uniformed officer.

“He is not going to send anymore [censored] pics or nothing,” he adds. “He’s basically kind of here to tell you he’s done with that.”

“This is your last time doing this,” the confronter tells Chism.

“1000 percent,” Chism responds.

“You didn’t mean to send those pictures and videos to that little girl, did you?” the confronter asks.

“I did, I mean I did, I did the act,” Chism replies in the footage.

At one point, the confronter tells officers, “He came to meet what he thought was a real 15-year-old.”

An officer can be heard referencing a “decoy” and asking about [censored] pictures, though portions of the audio are difficult to decipher due to distance from the camera.

The confronter tells police, “Yeah, we got it all printed out, but he’s not gonna do it no more.”

One officer is heard saying “standby” before separating Chism from the group. The livestream shows officers speaking with him away from the camera. An officer later tells the group he is contacting his sergeant and will document the situation.

No arrest is shown in the video. Toward the end of the livestream, an officer can be seen taking notes on a pad and briefly patting Chism on the back before he appears to be released.

It is unclear from the video whether any electronic devices were seized or whether the matter remains under active investigation.

During the livestream, the confronter tells viewers he is “on the school board.” Public records reflect Chism was elected to the Bryant School Board in 2017 but is no longer serving on the board.

A March 5, 2017 Arkansas Democrat-Gazette feature described Chism as a full-time National Guard infantry officer, entrepreneur, and father of three. At the time, he said he sought to serve because of his children’s enrollment in the Bryant school system.

Chism’s retirement from the Arkansas Army National Guard was publicly recognized earlier this month at Camp Robinson.

The Salty Soldier has reached out to the North Little Rock Police Department to confirm whether officers responded to the Feb. 23 incident, whether a report was generated, and whether any criminal investigation is underway.

The Salty Soldier has also contacted the Arkansas National Guard to determine whether Guard leadership was notified and whether the incident occurred before or after Chism’s retirement became effective.

As of publication Tuesday, no criminal charges have been announced.
